Holy Trinity boys win 1A state track title

JACKSONVILLE — By the time Andrew Cacciatore crossed the finish line, nobody was going to catch Holy Trinity.

Cacciatore was the third of three Tigers to score points in the boys 3,200 meters on Friday at the University of North Florida. His eighth-place time of 9:54.98, added to the second of Tristan Kattenberg (9:37.05) and third of Alex Brown (9:38.39), gave Holy Trinity 79.5 points in the team race, 20.5 more than First Academy.

Holy Trinity finished with 80.5, and its Class 1A state track and field championship was its second in a row and the second for the boys program. The girls were second, also matching last year’s finish, this time behind Maclay.
