The FHSAA made it official this past week that they have implemented a 2 day format to the State Track and Field Meet.  Contract negotiations are currently ongoing with IMG Academy in Bradenton, the new home for the meet after being held at Hodges Stadium on the campus of UNF for the last 4 years. 

IMG Academy won the FHSAA's bidding process and normal protocol is they will negotiate a formal agreement and sign a binding contract.

The State Meet will be held on Friday, May 6th, and Saturday, May 7th.

Major changes to the format include a single heat for the 800m run vice the traditional slow and fast heat format.  The 800m final will be contested on Friday along with the final of the 3200m.

The 400m will now be contested before the 4x100m Relay with prelims on Friday and the Finals on Saturday.

There will also be relay events for Special Olympic competitors in the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays.

The 1600m Final on Saturday will be pushed back from it's traditional placing as the 3rd event of the running Finals, in essence trading places with the 3200m towards the end of the meet.
