JACKSONVILLE -- Faced with a decision to try and break Xavier Carter’s vaunted 400-meter state record, a goal St. Thomas Aquinas Arman Hall has coveted most during an All-American career,
or save his legs for a 1,600-meter relay race that would clinch a fifth consecutive state title for the
St. Thomas Aquinas boys’ track team, Hall put team first.
That decision allowed Hall’s anchor leg to power Aquinas, which held a tenuous 69-65.60 lead over
upset-minded Colonial heading into the 1,600 relay, to victory and clinch a fifth state title at the
Class 4A finals at Hodges Stadium on Saturday night.
