American Heritage senior and Auburn signee Anthony Schwartz stormed down the homestretch to win the Class 2A boys 100-meter dash in a new all-conditions US #1 time of 10.07 seconds with (+2.5 wind). It's No. 6 all-time under all conditions.

His teammate, Tyson Campbell, took second in 10.37.

Schwartz also saddled up in the 200 meters, running 20.41w. He then anchored American Heritage to a 40.14-second victory in the 4x100. That is second fastest in Florida history.

Tamari Davis and Brianna Williams had some epic head-to-head clashes over the course of the day. Williams emerged victorious in the Class 3A girls 100-meter final, running a wind-legal 11.31. Davis finished as the runner-up in 11.36.

However, Davis came back when the two faced off again for the 200 final. Davis displayed a dominating performance, taking the Class 3A title in a new US#1 time and all-time freshman class record of 22.48 seconds. This time, Williams was runner-up, running 23.15.

Davis narrowly broke the Florida state record held previously by Kaylin Whitney (22.49)  and is now third on the all-time prep list, sitting behind Allyson Felix (22.11A) and Candace Hill (22.43).  Davis also ranks No. 3 in World U18 history and is the No. 10 all-time World U20 performer.

Timothy Doyle of Freedom HS ran 4:15.42 to win his third consecutive title in the Class 4A boys 1,600 meters. Ironically, Doyle ran the exact same time down to the hundredth of a second when he won his first title in 2016.

Michael Phillips and Hugh Brittenham went stride for stride in the boys Class 3A 1,600. Phillips pulled away just enough to take this year’s title by running 4:08.17 to Brittenham’s 4:09.38.

The boys team from First Academy (Orlando) in Class 1A won its first state title after scoring 64 points.

The Bolles School's Caitlin Collier returned to the track after her stunning 800-meter performance Friday to claim two more titles and an additional podium finish. Collier won the Class 2A girls 1,600 title in a time of 4:49.47. Prior to that, she anchored her team’s 4x800 relay to a victory with the final time being 9:06.55.

On the anchor, Collier ran Bolles’ 4x400 to a third-place finish, crossing the line in 3:52.79.

DaeQwan Butler of Piper upset Jamal Walton in the Class 4A 400 meters, running 46.55. Walton, of Miramar, finished second in 47.10 and Ian Davis of Western was third in 47.12. Thomas Burns of Miami Northwestern ran 46.72 for the 3A victory.

Jan'Taijah Ford, a junior from Northeast, won the Class 3A 400 meters in 53.19 seconds.
